How It All Began
Grandma & Grandpa met through the funeral director that had taken care of Ken at his death. He gave grandmas number to a man who had lost his wife a month after her husbands passing. Grandma had really not givin any thought to going out and really not knowing what to do when this gentleman would call to go to dinner and a movie. Fred Banks, a wonderful man and father to five children. They met many places together and most of the time taking there children with them. Grandpa gave grandma a diamond after going together less then a month. Grandpa was very anxious for them to mary and grandma feeling rushed, sleepless nights and prayer she decided to give the ring back, but continued to see grandpa to know for sure. Grandpa, said it would be the right thing to do for the both of them. Later that year during christmas when a bad storm hit grandma and her children had to stay with grandpa and his kids when there pipes had frozen and broke. It was then grandma knew they could combine families and it would work, with the help of the Lord. Grandma knew what lay ahead, and with faith she took on the task and they were married on April 9, 1965.
